Until now, you had to call a “dispatch center” to request a taxi.

By using taxi-hailing apps such as DiDi, you can request a ride without making a phone call.

This eliminates disadvantages of phone-based requests such as the following:

• You can’t get through on the phone

• The operator’s attitude is rude and unpleasant

• You are told “we’ll check” and kept waiting for many minutes

• After waiting, you’re told a car can’t be dispatched

• Call charges are incurred every time

If you request via the app, the taxi’s estimated arrival time is displayed so you can use your waiting time efficiently.

❷ Reduce unnecessary conversation

When you select your drop-off location in the app, it is automatically sent to the driver of the dispatched taxi, so you don’t need to explain your destination after boarding.

5. Dispatch Fee (Pickup Fee)

The pickup fee varies depending on the taxi company dispatched.

In many regional areas, pickup may be free, but in Tokyo it typically costs around ¥290–¥410.

This is about the same as other taxi-hailing apps—neither cheaper nor more expensive.

Because you can’t choose the taxi company in DiDi, the pickup fee will vary depending on which company is dispatched.

6. Advance Booking (Pre-Booking)

With DiDi, you can make an advance booking from two days before up to 30 minutes before your ride.

7. Cancellation Fee

A cancellation fee is charged if certain conditions are met when using DiDi.

• If you cancel after one minute has passed since completing the ride request

• If the taxi arrives on schedule and you cancel

In these cases, a ¥720 cancellation fee will be charged, so please be careful when canceling.

8. Basic How-To

The DiDi app is easy to use even for first-time users.

❷ Register with DiDi

Register the required information in the app. If you plan to use in-app payments, also enter your payment information.

To register a credit card, tap “Side Menu” → “Payment Methods” → “Credit/Debit Card,” and register your card information.

❸ Enter a coupon

Once you’ve entered the required information, you’ll be taken to the default screen. On that screen, tap the “Coupons” button and enter your coupon code.

❹ Request a ride

On the map, locations that are easy for pickup are shown with green dot markers.

We recommend tapping those markers to board smoothly.

You can select your destination by searching the address or building name.

After selecting your pickup and destination, tap “Call a Regular Taxi” or “Order.”

This completes your ride request.

All that’s left is to wait for the taxi to arrive at your pickup location.

9. How to Receive a Receipt

After you get out, a receipt will be sent to your registered email address (receipts are not issued inside the taxi).

Please register and verify your email address in advance.

The sender address for receipts is “noreply@didiglobal.com”. If you use domain-specific receiving settings, please configure them so you can receive the email.

2. Enter your preferred address.
3. You’ll receive a verification email. Tap “Verify Now” in the email.

1. Tap “Side Menu” (top-left) → “Order List” → “Issue Receipt”
2. Select the target order and tap “Send” at the bottom right
3. Confirm the recipient name and email address, then tap “Send”
